With Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Munich and Saarbrücken, Dresden is one of the locations where the first university computer science courses were established nationwide in 1969. In 2019 this date marks the 50th anniversary, as the Information Processing Section was founded at the TU Dresden on 1 January 1969. On September 1 of the same year the first students began their studies. Computer science education is the foundation for a successful future - digitisation is the opportunity for regional growth. With five decades of research and teaching experience, TU Dresden is shaping IT specialists for Saxony's growing demand for skilled workers. 50 years of computer science education are an anniversary that we want to celebrate together with the anniversary faculties and our cooperation partners. The two-day celebration on 19 and 20 June 2019 in the faculty will unite numerous further visions for a digital future.
