Nigerian National Identity Card

The Nigerian National Identity Card is in the process of implementation in partnership with MasterCard. Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN) and the Public Private Development Centre (PPDC) put in Freedom of Information requests to learn more about the procurement process by which MasterCard won the contract from the Nigerian government. The card acts both as a biometric identification card and provides “financial solutions” for so-called “unbanked” citizens.
